Building Farms of the Future with Bristol Aggie High School

Over the last year we have been working with students at Bristol County Agricultural High School to conceptualize, design, and build the farms of the future. A farm centered around soil and ecosystem management can be more efficient for both production of food and the environment. This is an ongoing project taking place in the southern coast of MA.

This winter we are finishing the design concept of the FLOWER Farm. The proof-of-concept will be built and installed this spring by students from Bristol County Agricultural High School and installed at the YMCA Sharing the Harvest Farm , a non-profit, volunteer powered, 5 acre farm that grows and donates over 400,000 pounds of food to 20 local food pantries from Fall River to New Bedford.

The FLOWER brings together past work, including the Beam Tractor and Electric Horse with new features that improve climate and bio-ecological resilience, maximize nutrient and energy conservation, and encourage soil regeneration.
